We have been SO busy since coming back from break! In math, we are just about to finish up Unit 5 which has been focusing on multiplication, division, and area. We used paper squares to help us figure out the area of different objects around the room! We have also talked about different units we can use to measure area with (square inches, square feet, square yards).
Area = the total number of square units needed to cover a two-dimensional surface
We had the treat of having Sam's mom, Lori, come in and speak to our class and Ms. Bergstrom's class about being a representative. She shared a story with us about what the president does. Then she answered lots of questions about bills, laws, and even took some suggestions the third graders had about what they would like to see in the future! They had some great ideas!
This morning, we had a special assembly featuring Up North Dance Studio! Ms. Bergstrom dances in a group at this studio so we got to see dances from various companies!
Lastly, Mr. Mills came into third grade and did a chess lecture about castling. I am always impressed with their knowledge about chess and the strategy behind it!
