Our math unit has been focusing on measurement! We have been doing math stations for the last couple of sessions and when each group gets to my station we have been working with a different type of measurement. On Monday we practiced estimating and finding the mass of an object using the balance scale. Today we estimated and found the liquid volume of different containers! I was so impressed with how accurate their estimates were. If you are looking for a fun weekend activity inside, they all enjoyed pouring water into different containers and finding the liquid volume using a measuring cup!
Some information the third graders should know:
1 cup = 250ml
4 cups = 1 liter (250ml x 4 = 1 liter)
1 liter = 1,000 milliliters
We enjoyed some extra time outside today to celebrate Adam and Luke's birthdays!
