End of the Year Fun!

Maple Street, Talent Show, Field Day, and Chess Tournament

Please remember we are going to Maple Street Park tomorrow. We are leaving around 11am and returning around 2:15. Students need to come to school dressed in their bathing suits with a shirt, shorts, or dress over top. They will need a change of clothes, including underwear for after swimming. They need to also have sturdy walking shoes and sunscreen they can apply themselves! If you selected home lunch, please make sure they have a lunch with them as well. Thanks!

Maple Street Park Field Trip Rescheduled

Maple Street Park Field Trip Date Change

In anticipation of rainy weather on Friday, the third grade field trip to Maple Street Park will now be taking place on Thursday June 15th. We will still be leaving Summit Street around 11am and returning around 2:15pm.

Lunch: If your student signed up for a school lunch, they will still be getting a school lunch. If your student signed up to bring lunch from home, you will need to send your student with lunch from home.

Swimsuits: We will be trying to leave right after the chess tournament, so it would be very helpful if your student came to school in their swimsuit with a change of school clothes to wear after swimming.

Safety: Please wear sturdy footwear (no flip flops) for our walk there and send your student with sunscreen they are capable of applying on their own. Also remember to pack a water bottle to keep hydrated.

Even with the toasty temperatures today, there was lots of learning going on in third grade! We had some Fleming 4th graders come and answer questions!

We learned more about beam bridges and then got to construct our own! 

During Writer's Workshop, our lovely learning specialists let us come into their air conditioned space and get some amazing writing done! We were in every nook and cranny of this space, but were very productive! 

Please remember to have students come right up to the gym in the morning for our chess tournament! 

Details for June 8th

Hope you are planning on joining us tomorrow (Thursday June 8th)! Third graders need to wear solid, brightly colored tops and black (or dark) bottoms. Mrs. Valastro is also asking they wear some sort of baseball hat. 

The show will start at 1:30 at Fleming School. Students will be dismissed back at Summit. If your child generally goes to Village Kids, you will need to sign them out at Village Kids.
